BROADBAND

GovernUp has published a discussion paper identifying the need for reform of the UK’s digital communications market.

The paper - 'Time for a broadband shake - up? The case for reform of the UK’s digital communications market' - finds that ‘business as usual’ will not be enough to ensure that the UK’s future broadband needs are met, and that a more competitive market is needed to deliver reliable, super-fast connectivity to all UK citizens.

The author of the paper was Victoria Read, a policy and public affairs consultant with 15 years’ experience in the telecoms, media and technology sectors. She was previously Executive Director of the Commercial Broadcasters Association and Head of Government Affairs at the social network Bebo. She has also held policy positions with the Broadband Stakeholder Group and the Publishers Association.

The paper is part of GovernUp’s Digital Future project and has been supported by Vodafone UK. You can read about the discussion paper here and read the full paper here.
